The stock Michelin MXX3 tyres which came on my car were ok.  They were pretty quiet and gave a comfortable ride.

When the front pair wore out at about 14000 miles I decided to get the lot replaced with the S-02 as I’d read it was the best all-round performance tyre.  I stuck with the standard 225/45 size, as I didn’t know at the time that 235/40s would work, and look a lot better.

The S-02s give excellent levels of grip and just as comfortable a ride.  Wear has not been any worse than the Michelins - I replaced the front pair at 28000 miles.  They were getting pretty bald though, and were rather worn at the shoulders.

More importantly, the S-02s look cool :-)
