When I first got my S4, I never thought it would need more power.  It was so much quicker than the A3 1.8T Sport that I had before, I thought chipping was unnecessary.

As the days went by however, I began to get used to the speed.  I even started to find it “a bit sluggish” off the line and that it “ran out of steam” a bit at high revs.  Time to visit my local Audi tuning specialist!

Automotive Developments (AmD) are only a few miles from where I bought the car - MotorWorld Audi in Oxford.  I had been planning to take my A3 there for an upgrade, except my S4 arrived early.  They were therefore my first call.

AmD took my car for the day and did a full custom ECU remap on their rolling road.  My S4 came back with a useful 50BHP extra, and torque coming out of its ears.  Check out the plots on the right.

The result is I now get huge acceleration in every gear!  Prod the loud pedal in sixth at 80 and in a few seconds I’m doing 120 (on the racetrack of course, Officer).
