Well, the Abt suspension kit wasn’t really to my liking. In fact, I don’t consider it suitable for the S4. I’m sure it’s fine on an A4 quattro, but the dampers can’t cope with the extra weight of the S4. I now have the H&R coilovers, which are excellent. This is what the S4 should have as standard! Body control through the twisties is superb, and the ride quality is very good too. Here’s the kit, freshly arrived from Germany: |

I seem to have the steel front upright rather than the aluminium one. I thought they switched to steel later in production, but apparently not. After installation the suspension requires alignment. Here’s the car on the rig: |
